Good times

Jenna and Carter love to look at our photo albums, so today we were looking at some older ones and I reminisced a little...

This is me and Madison, my niece, but not my niece in the photo cause this is before Nate's mission. She was so little! She'd hang out with us, it was so cute.

Also pre-mission. Nate and I used to cook together a lot and pretend we were on cooking shows, we'd be so silly. It always ended in a food fight! This is Nate after I got him pretty good.

My college roommates and I would do face masks all the time, even making our FHE brothers do it, and so of course when Nate got home I thought he'd enjoy it, too.

This one makes me laugh. It's at one of my bridal showers... Nate came at the very end and my aunts thought it would be funny to show him one of my GIFTS and I about DIED! I was SOOOOOO embarrassed and smashed his face so he couldn't see. I was a little bashful about that stuff to say the least. Now here I am posting it on my blog.

So we lived in a "mother-in-law" apartment off the side of a house when we were first married and our landlords were huge hunters. SO one day we got home late and there was something on our front step. I thought, OOH COOKIES! And picked it up and was like, what the-- and turned on the lights and IT'S A DEAD GOOSE!!! Head chopped off, feathers still on, dripping blood all over the floor! HELLO!!!! Our landlords were nice to think of us but I honestly didn't know what to do with it! It sat in our freezer for months till I discretely threw it away. We laughed so hard though.

In this same apartment there was this whole summer where everytime we opened the door a million little bugs would fly in. So we'd run around with the vaccuum and suck them up. Good times.

So on my way home from work one day I was like, something is NOT right with the car. I pulled in the driveway and got out to find THIS!!!! Yeah ya THINK something's wrong! I'm surprised I made it home!

After I graduated college we took a road trip to California so this is Nate at Six Flags, I just love this picture!

And the best for last!!

My favorite.

Oh, this and that.

I’m gonna be really random today since I have no recent pictures to post because I let Nate take the camera.

Yeah, first and foremost I MISS NATE!! He’s in Virginia for work and left yesterday and I can tell already it’s gonna be a loooong week. We really are babies about this whole thing too, we’ve talked on the phone like 8 times today I think. We just aren’t apart very often, especially for this long. Nate said it felt like he was leaving on his mission again. Which is just a TAD dramatic cause he'll be gone 6 days, not 2 years. You said you’d check my blog, honey, so this is for you... I LOVE YOU!!!!! WE MISS YOU!!! DON’T CATCH THE SWINE FLU!!!

Speaking of swine. Logan has his first cold and snorts all night long. Poor kid!!

He is also battling a bout of baby acne. It’s okay, Logan, this too shall pass. You aren’t the only one to go through this. Just look at your brother (i so wish I had the camera so I could compare the two!)

And a couple weeks later, it's gone! Like magic! That Jessica Simpson was right about Pro-Active. (just kidding.)

Yeah Carter turned out okay.

Logan’s also balding. Don’t you worry little guy, your head’s just making way for your REAL hair, the hair you’ll have for the rest of your life! Unless you’re Uncle Neil.

Whew! Look what can happen in a few short years!

OH YEAH and Logan is smiling now! That sweet grin makes up for every sleepless night. Serious. It even makes up for having nothing to wear cause none of my good clothes fit.

Nevertheless. I have dusted off the treadmill.

I know I know. Logan’s 6 weeks. I should give myself a break for pete’s sake.

BUT my GOAL is to run a half-marathon in the fall. And the only half marathon in the fall I can find is the Top of Utah half (in Logan, ha ha!) and that is on August 29th. Which I guess is more late summer than fall. YIKES! But I want to try. I really miss running.

I walked on the treadmill for a few days. Then on Saturday I tried to run. Okay I knew I would be way slow and I knew I’d probably still feel a little bruised, but there was one thing I was NOT prepared for. Let’s just say I’m in dire need of about 5 sports bras. Nursing and running make for an interesting mix. Will I let that stop me??? NO! I will press forward. Oh who am I kidding I’m not wonder woman. I may be all talk about this half marathon I admit it. But we’ll see.

All right I’m boring myself with this random post. Time to flip the Jazz game on and see if we can win. See sometimes I do watch sports. Nate, aren’t you proud of me?

So I'm not a hairdresser all right?

Okay. So one reason I started growing Jenna's bangs out in the first place, almost a year and a half ago, was because when it came time to trim them I screwed 'em up every time. For one thing I could not cut straight for the life of me. For another I always misjudged just how much I was cutting off. See for yourself...

Hello crooked. Hello short.

Bangs, at their proper length, are really cute.

And I juuuuuust couldn't resist.

And now we have THIS.

SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!

There's like a mile between her eyebrows and her bangs!!!!

What the heck was I thinking? What have I done? Who is that little girl??!

Honestly she was better off cutting her own hair.

Good thing it grows back!

When "arts & crafts" go badly...

Yesterday I was cleaning up dinner while the kids played with the box of crayons, markers, and little children's giraffe-shaped SCISSORS.

Now, what makes this interesting is that yesterday morning I had done Jenna's hair in a cute side ponytail, so I took a couple pictures. Let's call them the "before" photos.

Cute I know. So back to last night. I glance over at Jenna and there she is CUTTING HER HAIR!!!! AAAHHH!!! But don't you worry it's really not too bad, it could have been MUCH WORSE. She just decided to give herself some long bangs.

Can you tell I just got mad at her?

Like I said, not too bad. Nothing to shed tears over, anyway. Only tears of relief she didn't chop all her beautiful hair. I just don't know how to fix it, really...

AND here's pictures I've been meaning to post of our little Logan, now 1 month! He's been such a good baby (of course whenever I say that he has a really rough night or something) oh and speaking of nights, NO he's not remotely close to sleeping through the night I know everyone asks that... he has yet to have even a 4 hour stretch at night... but I'm just grateful he goes right back to sleep after eating and that he's so even-tempered. He is starting to coo and I keep waiting for that first REAL smile, although he's smiled several times while drowsy. He really is the sweetest thing and my heart melts all day long.

I love his little hands poking out.

With Nate's mom... bad timing on the picture, his face makes me laugh!

Much better!

I LOVE when newborns sleep with their arms up like this!

Ah, a father-son moment.

Mother-son.

Grandpa-grandson.

And I love these pictures I got of my 3 kiddies!! If you'll notice, Carter has--you guessed it! some of my lip gloss by his eye. That kid.

OKAY a couple more random pictures.

I love this one of my mom and Jenna.

What happens when I try to get ready for the day. They said they were "ice-skating." I didn't know I had so many bags.

Okay I'm done! Gotta put a certain little boy back in his crib for the 4th time...

A lot I mean A LOT of pictures

Saturday's festivities at Papa Mike and Grandma Pam's.

This picture sums up JUST how much fun the day was. I love it!

What a scrumptious lunch.

Easter Sunday at my parent's.

It was a great weekend. I had way too much sugar. But among all that I do know my Savior lives. I'm so grateful for that.
