This girl...

Who is such a tease these days...
She brought me this picture she drew and told me it was "Mom when you are mad at us. Like, when Carter gets out of bed."

It's like I'm looking in a mirror.
I'm so thankful for her helpfulness and teasing and imagination and sweet spirit.
I am grateful for my buddy, Carter.

Who yesterday told me, "For CRYIN out loud, where's your Christmas spirit??"
(He is quoting a Mickey Mouse DVD.)
I'm so thankful for his energy and laughter and the many "Mom" "What?" "i love you" conversations.
I am grateful for my Logie Baby. (funny how nicknames stick.)
Who I found the other day on the counter trying to eat my Scentsy wax.

And when I asked him to give me a tissue to wipe his nose, brought me this.

I am thankful for the snuggle bug that he is, those big brown eyes, and his yearning to be a big kid like his brother and sister, AND how hard he tries to communicate. His most recent words are, "Help." and "Hurt." Sounds bad, i know!
AND my baby.

I am so thankful for her irresistable rosy cheeks, the way she burrows her head into my neck, and how she greets me every morning with a HUGE smile.
And, NATE.

I am thankful for his selflessness, his silliness, his heart of gold. He is my best friend, whom I happen to be completely in love with... and it's been that way since high school.
We had a great Thanksgiving with our families. I am so grateful to be surrounded by so many supportive, kind, and loving people. I'm talking about our families, but also the neighborhood we live in. Couldn't have picked a better spot. When we moved in I'd come home from church in tears cause I felt so isolated and I didn't know how to reach out to people and I wondered if i'd ever have friends. Well I've learned how to reach out to people, but have also been blessed with the many people who have reached out to me. I am just surrounded by the nicest people on earth.
Nate and I always try to make a Thankful list on Thanksgiving. It feels good to be thankful for things, to actually write them down and see. It makes all the other hard things in life go away for awhile.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I love this post! Your kids are so cute! So we just bought a couch from this lady that Ryan met while doing cable and I just realized from your picture that it is the same couch as yours, even the same pillows! How funny! :)
I once drew a picture of my mom smiling and holding a paddle in her hand (like she was going to spank us with it). She was NOT happy and made me change the paddle into a sign that said, "Come in for dinner!" Ah, the pictures children draw!
Annie, that is the funniest thing ever. Thanks for sharing this. I am still laughing. Erika, I love your blogs!
