So I sort of feel bad about what I wrote about Nate in my Ragnar post... you know, like how I wanted to push him down... called him a liar... so I decided to be a little nicer this time.
Ha ha nevermind!!! See this picture?
I love it, you know why? Because although his face is super happy looking, Nate is dying a little inside. Yep we get to the carnival and Jenna sees this ride and BEGS us to go on it. She is JUST tall enough. It spins you really fast. Well Nate is a thrill seeker, like me, so he's like "I'll take her!" Well as soon as he gets off and I see him I know something is wrong. He looks confused and his face is an odd beam of glistening sweat. I say with kindness, "What is the matter, my dear?" ha ha just kidding I am all, "What is wrong with YOU?!" Nate goes, "I don't feel so good." So, I have never seen him get sick on a ride. And I laughed and laughed and laughed. AND LAUGHED!!!! I don't know why I thought his pain was so funny, but I guess this is why you could call me just a mean old wife!!! He had to plop his cold and clammy body on the grass moaning about how he must be getting old while me and the kids tried to use up the rest of our tickets as fast as we can so Nate wouldn't puke right there by the merry-go-round. I almost wish I could say he did cause that would be the perfect ending, but he made it home and felt much better.
So I know this sounds insensitive, but I swear Nate knew I was concerned for him. Our marriage is, let's see, how do I put this... lighthearted. We tease each other (not cruelly), we have since 8th grade. I can tell him when he is bugging me and he does the same. We have our arguments, but we make up quickly cause we realize so many things aren't worth it (something we definitely had to learn from the early days of marriage, fights about cheese, come on!) We work perfectly together. Nate's my best friend and it feels good to have someone know me through and through and to completely trust somebody. He still does the sweetest things for me. Even though I publicly blog about somewhat embarrassing things about him. I love you Nate. We are pretty weird, I mean, laid back people, that's how we roll.
(Right before our road trip to AZ.)
How else would we deal with these stinkers?
